Barbara is seriously amazing!!! I bought a dress on eBay for $12 mainly because I loved the color and it was such a great price. When the dress arrived it was not quite the same as pictured and way too big (of course I expected some issues when I took the risk to buy it in the first place). A friend told me to call Barbara and she'd be able to fix it. She did more than fix it, after a few weeks she had completely recreated this dress to be exactly what I wanted. I am beyond pleased with the results and I have never had a dress that fit as perfect as this one. She is very talented and I felt so comfortable during each fitting. I can admit I'm not the easiest client but she was able to figure out exactly what I was trying to say and totally delivered. I will absolutely use her again for all my future alterations

Over the past year, Barbara has altered two bridesmaid dresses for me and both came out fantastic. The first one needed a hook added at the last minute and she fixed it for me on the spot. The second dress was done on a time crunch and she was able to have it back to me sooner than I expected. I am sure I will visit Barbara again and I definitely recommend her services!

Barb was a huge part of the success of the biggest day of my life! She made some pretty significant changes to my wedding dress, which happened to be my mother's wedding dress. I was actually the third person in the family to wear the dress so you can imagine how nervous I was to have someone cut the sleeves off. Barb tackled the project with perfect confidence and competence that eased my nerves and created a stunning result! She was incredibly enjoyable to work with. I loved going in for my fittings and she was very flexible with her schedule; always making time to meet with me. I could tell that working on my dress wasn't just a job to her, she really cared about my big day.

My husband and I had another event a few weeks before our wedding in which clothing was made for us over seas. We had about 1 week to make the clothing fit and of course Barb came to the rescue. She adjusted two dresses for me that were made with very unusual fabric. She's like an engineer and an artist all under the guise of a seamstress. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Barb and I will certainly be recommending her to everyone and bringing her any other clothing that I need altered.

I met Barbara through my dance community and soon learned of her dressmaking talent. I was part of a dance team in a close deadline rush for costumes! Barbara responded to the challenge!! She made beautiful costumes for the team members in record time! The request was for a flattering-during movement costume for both the women & men (all sizes). From the start she "got" us and did an awesome job with the design! Her choice of both style and fabric was just what we wanted - as if she was inside our heads! The fit was perfect too. She took oodles of time to make it right (I have a figure that is quite hard to fit properly to achieve the correct drape of fabric)! Her design was so flattering and polished it was an instant hit! The team got a ton of compliments on the costumes (and the dancing:-)

Note: when she gets into the "zone" doing a fitting, look out! :-) I was so impressed with how she listened to me/heard me during the fitting. She responded with such excellent (magical) pinning skills that the end product was a gorgeous fit!

I have already and will (over & over) HIGHLY recommend her to anyone seeking custom dressmaking, costumes and/or expert alterations.

Dear Barbara,

The costumes you have made both for me and my dance teams in New York were fabulous.  Dance team consisted of 16 womens costumes and 16 mens vests of all different sizes and shapes.  All were beautiful.

Most recently I was in a considerable time crunch for a costume, for US Open Dance Competition.  Barbara was able to turn around an elegant and perfectly fitting costume in record time.
